This weekend’s Ironman race in Hamburg, Germany lost its swim leg to blue-green algae. Australia’s Sarah Crowley had an easy victory with a time of 08:08:21, more than five minutes ahead of Germany’s Katharina Grohmann. Danish triathlete Maja Stage Nielsen rounded out the podium nearly 10 minutes behind Nielsen.

The men’s triathlon was closer, but not that close. Bart Aernouts of Belgium finished in 07:05:26, beating Britain’s Joe Skipper by 3:41 and South Africa’s James Cunnama by almost 8.5 minutes.
