As the date of one of the toughest IRONMAN of the world approaches, a constellation of pro athletes has already signed on for the big event.
Reece Barclay, (GBR) With a background in competitive swimming, this is Reece first year as a Pro. He is pleased to be back on the start list for the iconic race for the 3rd time. His partner, Lucy Charles won the Club La Santa IRONMAN Lanzarote 2017 edition.
Erik Holmberg (SWE) is coming back to Lanzarote after a rigorous training to improve his last year’s result on the race.
Martijn Dekker (NED) from the Itzu Tri Team, Martijn began his sporting career as a contest swimmer and at the age of 18 made the full transition to triathlon. His goal is to win the IRONMAN and trying to perform as good as possible in the Ironman Hawaii.
Romain Guillaume (FRA) another member of the Itzu Tri Team, Romain became pro in 2009 and in 2012 he made his full breakthrough as a triathlete by winning the 70.3 Mont-Tremblant. The 2014 Club La Santa IRONMAN Lanzarote champion is looking forward to winning again this year.
Samuel Huerzeler (SUI) had an impressive performance in last year’s edition, finishing 6th. After an intense preseason, he is ready for the challenge.
Camille Donat (FRA) triathlete and swimmer. From 2007 has regularly taken part in French Championships. Camille has commented that « We live something strong during an Ironman » as she is getting prepared for Lanzarote.
Federica de Nicola (ITA) The female revelation of the Italian triathlon, returns to Lanzarote after finishing 2017 as 18-24 world champion and 18-24 AWA champion.
